Our Committee

Warners Bay Early Learning and Care Centre is a community, not for profit centre managed by a Management Committee. This Committee meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. We are currently seeking expressions of interests from families and extended families as well as community members who would like to join our committee. All families are welcome to attend Committee meetings and indeed join the Committee. It is after all your children that the decisions are being made about.

Our committee members are, Andy who is our President, Kylie who is our Treasurer, Allira who is our Staff Liaison Officer and Katie who is our Secretary, who all work in collaboration with the directors and the educators to make decisions about our service.
WBELCC truly reflects its name of a Community Based Child Care Centre.

Each family is encouraged to part take in family involvement, contributing voluntarily in some way to the Centre, thereby ensuring its ongoing improvement and maintaining the community feel. You may choose to attend meetings and also join the Management Committee. Volunteer your services for working bees and Bunnings BBQ’s, come in and share a skill with the children or join the staff taking children on excursions.

Regardless of your skill base or work status, by volunteering your time and skill within our management committee you will be participating in your child’s care and assist in making decisions that is best for all families and children as well as educators at the centre.

Fundraising is also very important to the centre and enables us to upgrade our existing facilities and provide new ones as well as purchase new equipment and resources for the children such as the trapeze net out the front of the centre in our nature yard. So if you can help in this area we are open to this as well as feel this is also an important contribution to our centre.

If you are interested in joining our management committee please come and see Debra or Bianca, the centre directors and we can arrange for you to meet up with a committee member who will be more than happy to discuss the rewards of joining their team.

Katie – Committee Secretary

Hi, my name is Katie. I have two children who attend WBELCC. I started on the committee to meet other parents and to learn how community based centres run so that I can have a positive impact on how the Centre operates and to be an advocate for the children and educators.

I feel that the Centre is unique with the services it provides for families and that the educators are amongst the best in the industry with a great depth of experience and diversity. I thoroughly enjoy being involved as a committee member.

The Centre relies on a dedicated team of parents and local members to assist with the running of the Centre. I know that families lead very busy lives these days (I work full-time as a doctor) but I encourage those of you who are interested to attend one of our monthly meetings to see how your contribution may lead to a positive outcome for your children.
